Lot 41 Hensbrook Loop

Stormwater Drainage

Design was approached by the Western Australia Building Company (WABC) to provide geotechnical and civil engineering design and detailing services for a new office block and warehouse at Lot 41 Hensbrook Loop, Forestdale Business Park.

Design firstly had to undertake a geotech investigation to determine the soil classification and infiltration properties. Once the infiltration rate and soil classification were determined, Design then had the appropriate information to design the stormwater drainage systems. Thereafter, Design produced a geotech and storm water drainage design report with design drawings for submittal by the client to the local council.

Project Brief

Outcome

  • Undertake Geotech Investigation
  • Design Stormwater Drainage System

Background

WABG is Western Australia premier building company and is building a new regional office and warehouse in Forestdale Business Park. WABG approached Design Engineering to design the stormwater drainage system for their new facility

Project Objectives

The primary objective was to determine the infiltration rate of the existing soil.

Challenges

The City of Armadale Council and Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority set stringent infiltration rates for stormwater within the Forrestdale Business Park area. The new drainage system had to be designed within these parameters.

Our Approach

Design firstly had to undertake a geotech investigation to determine the soil classification and infiltration properties. Once the infiltration rate and soil classification were determined, Design then had the appropriate information to design the stormwater drainage systems.

Thereafter, Design produced a geotech and stormwater drainage design report with design drawings for submittal by the client to the local council.
